The Group of Seven (G7) is an intergovernmental organization comprising some of the richest and most influential nations in the world, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US, to which are added the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission. From 1998 to 2014, Russia (G8) was also part of the Group, which was excluded from the organization by the other members after the events in Crimea.
Since 1970 on an annual basis (the current meeting is the 47th) the Group has met to discuss relevant facts about the world trend. The decisions taken at these meetings have a strong influence on international policies.

At this summit, President-in-Office Boris Johnson invited 3 other nations to participate (Australia, India, South Korea).
The G7 2021 summit will be held between 11 and 13 June at Carbis Bay in Cornwall. The main topics discussed at this summit will be global trade, the pandemic crisis and climate change.
It has already been announced by The President-in-Office Boris Johnson that G7 members are committed to making every effort to tackle the pandemic crisis worldwide and to help the poorest and most struggling countries. As President-in-Office Johnson admits, the collaboration of all global systems is needed to deal effectively with this pandemic, or all efforts could be in vain. A $7.5 billion fund will be allocated to help the countries most in need. In addition, as soon as possible, 13 million doses of vaccine will be delivered to the African continent to ensure that their 6.5 million health workers are vaccinated as soon as possible.
