Today is a month since the start of the coup.
In these days when the clashes in Myanmar are becoming more frequent and heated, we are beginning to see the number of deaths among the protesters grow, which only yesterday were 18. Protesters are starting to organize themselves with handmade shields to protect themselves from the junta. In my opinion, this is a sign of an ignition of the fight, which will certainly lead to something not good. Meanwhile, the junta has established a curfew from 8pm.
For days, dozens of videos have been available daily showing the violence that the junta is carrying out against peaceful demonstrators. The fear is that this abuse of force will clearly lead to an escalation of everything, with the protesters most likely not going to let themselves be silenced.
This is one of the reasons why intervention by the international community and the United Nations is urgent. Which is not very simple, because any intervention by someone to support the demonstrators can be used by others to justify support for the junta with the excuse that one must not get in the midst of the interests of other countries, and this could to unleash a war in the territory or in wider areas which would be very complicated. For this reason, the intervention of the international community is not easy, because the balance is very critical, and we are living in a pandemic period, where it is very risky to make certain decisions.
Meanwhile, the EU continues to condemn the events that are happening in Myanmar and is working on all possible fields, from diplomatic to those requiring sanctions.
More updates soon.
