Myanmar: No Connection

15.03.2021

Because the problems are never enough. The death numbers continue to rise. The military junta has declared martial law. The mobile internet connection has been interrupted (still leaving the WiFi connection in bursts). The case of the Chinese pipelines. All this is leading to degeneration with the darkest omens at the door.

Let's start a few days ago, when from the protest the desire to boycott the Chinese gas pipeline and oil pipeline that crosses all of Myanmar to bring primary goods to China, Burmese raw materials, began to rise loudly. This voice has risen in response to Chinese declarations and the Chinese blockade of any interventions on Burmese territory, which state that the problems of Burmese territory must be solved within Burmese territory, without external influences. As if Chinese influence is no longer evident both now and historically. In response, the Protestants have begun to move the idea of attacking the Chinese pipelines, stating that as the Burmese problems must be solved within the Burmese without interference, then the Burmese raw materials must remain within Burmese territory. In addition to this, boycott campaigns of Chinese products have also started.

Having said that suddenly the death numbers began to rise (reaching the number of 59 deaths only yesterday and a number currently undefined for today), not counting the myriads of injured.

The combo therefore increase in aggressive attacks by the junta with the termination of the internet connection, I think it is clear to everyone the meaning. The intent seems to be the one that leads to a desire for a decisive cleansing of the opponents. We must also remember how for decades the military junta has been attacked by the United Nations with outbreaks of ethnic cleansing in various areas of the territory. I hope it is clear what this means. I hope it is clear that this is absolutely not good.

Martial law has also been added to all this. As if the problems weren't enough. With this we can say '' it's all over ''. It is a big problem.

I am now preparing to develop a small and quick conclusion by touching on two aspects, which are one concerning the international community and the second that concerning European / Northwestern society.

With regard to the first aspect, proposals for sanctions continue to be advanced and some of these are being taken. But it is clear that a decisive international intervention is needed that goes against the Chinese and Russian powers. To do this, the Atlantic powers would need to renounce not exactly legitimate interests around the world, but it is a very difficult thing. However, the fact remains that it is the Burmese people who must decide how they want and must be governed, not a military junta or neighboring powers.

As for the second point, the one concerning European / Northwestern society, I honestly don't have good words to say. This part of the world that believes and considers itself advanced in every respect is not capable of developing arguments that are profitable for the common good. I see a dispersion of energies in the argumentation of futile things, an inability to see how the world really goes. I see a sense of total superiority on the part of these populations. Logically, not all people are like this, but looking at the general the ignorance I perceive is extremely high. Ignorance is not a bad thing, I feel extremely ignorant and I am happy about it. The problem is not knowing you don't know, on the contrary, knowing you don't know is a very good thing. The problem, true ignorance, is thinking that you know and therefore speak. This technology is giving illusions to a mass of people unable to handle it. The word is overused. And the interest in the search for truth is not put at the fore. Fast and incomplete and mostly incorrect information is given as true. Interest in futile arguments is what is sought, thus putting on blinders so as to hide what we really live. As I said a few days ago, the problem with being free to speak is that we then speak. I have no reason to lie. This is what I see in the society I live in. A total lack of interest in what does not touch us personally. As long as a thing is not in our circle it does not exist for us. This really hurts me. I'll never stop saying it. We have to help each other, we have to be united.

For those who have read this far, there is now a small surprise. I put here a link to a very short Aesop's fable to read in a few minutes. I recommend reading.
