I often ask myself many things but I never honestly know what to think. Now the situation between Palestine and Israel has also degenerated. Not that it wasn't predictable, but what to say.
I have been interested in the Palestinian-Israeli situation for several years and I have a certain idea. Certainly not complete and satisfying because knowing certain situations is not easy and it is complex to talk about them. And besides, I am always of the conviction that before talking about something one must have certain knowledge, even if I have thoughts.
What I ask myself so many times is how long Israeli behavior still has to be considered acceptable in the whole area of interest. I certainly do not condone Palestinian behavior, but what can one say.
The entire North Eastern African, Middle Eastern and Arab area has a very important history. There are nations, territories, peoples in this area that have been protagonists of the world events of the last 3 or 4 thousand years. Territories such as that of Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Iran (Persia), the Arab area, the Mediterranean part including Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, and still others are important centers in this world. Really important things have happened, are happening and will happen.
We talk about balances. The clearest example of balance can be represented by the city of Jerusalem, which only recently was recognized by former US president Donald Trump as the capital of the state of Israel with the consequent change of the US embassy. And that's what really worries me a lot. The political balance, which has not existed in the area for too long. Israel is too important a strategic point and I believe, in my total ignorance, that it is playing with too important limits.
Civilian people and the military (who are people), on both sides, have paid, pay and will pay for the decisions of other people who do not think of the good of all people. It is the world I see. The human soul, the individual in his being worries me. I really often wonder why. The establishment of society is supported by a lack of trust in one's neighbor. Mistrust is rampant.
Thinking about the why, I have been thinking for a while that one of the reasons why human beings are unable to live in harmony is because there is insecurity and fear in their interior. Insecurity and fear lead to closure and self-defense, therefore to the removal of what is different and unknown.
The acceptance of one's insecurities and fears is a fundamental step for the good of social coexistence (when I refer to certain things it is not only the Palestinian-Israeli case that I am referring to. But it is the totality of relationships, even the daily ones between people, from whom I derive the greatest consequences).
Accepting your own insecurities and fears is not an easy step. We are all different in every way. Our conscious aspect and our unconscious are different from person to person. Seeking personal balance and what can then allow others to achieve their own balance with our help. Reasoning that conscious and unconscious, I also don't think they always work in a connected way. These are aspects that have been of interest to me in this last period.
It is a long time, I would say a lot, but not long enough, that I wonder about society. The human being is a social being, as are many living beings. The human being is something unique but it is not so special. It is unique because the human being is a human being, like a hippo is a hippo. But it is not so special because many of the characteristics it has can be found in Nature. The question of how certain kinds of characteristics developed is interesting.
The human being must therefore understand that it is part of the Universe (which we know) and that it is not the Universe.
This Universe made of particles, matter, from a I do not know what that is fascinating, that all together allows us to think and write. It is fantastic.
This complexity of things makes me think that it is not easy to solve these kinds of situations that happen around us. The unpredictability of the occurrence of events. There is no certainty, only the probability that something will happen. I am therefore very concerned about what is happening in the Middle East at the moment, for a possible cause of consequences that it can have.
Unfortunately, the common good is not yet put in the first place. Personal satisfaction, however, is not something that must be put aside. Equilibrium. The search for balance is important.
We have to do our best every day to be the right people. What is right though? It depends. This is a question on which it will be good to try to develop thoughts. For the moment I can say with certainty that what is happening is not right.
